Meet Dr. Ryan Nielson (Meridian, ID)

Ryan Nielson, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho. He is a Boise native and graduated from Borah High School.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Nielson is an experienced optometrist focused on comprehensive eye care. He is well known for providing advanced contact lens fittings, including scleral, rigid gas permeable (RGP), multifocal, and soft contact lenses. His clinical interests also include dry eye care, diabetic eye care, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Dr. Nielson is a co-founder of The Eye Site and has spent nearly his entire career serving the Meridian community. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and is appreciated by patients and staff for his friendly, approachable care.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nielson enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, including gardening, camping, hiking, and mountain biking.
